Another domino tumbles!
Sad to hear that Bruce, glad I have you in the log on 3 bands.
Still, look on the bright side. There'll be more bandwidth for Internet
connected toasters and refrigerators, surveillance, downloading fake news,
videos of skateboarding cats and pornography.
Suddenly my "second hobby" of gardening is looking more attractive!

the Brazilian telecom authority, Anatel, has recently designated 2,3 GHz
and 3,4 GHz for the upcoming 5G use.
In a previous public hearing, Anatel proposed to limit HAM use on these
bands to 100W eirp, while TIM, the Italian operator, asked to complete ban
HAM activity on these bands altogether. Upon our request, the final
regulation included a provision for still using full legal power
exclusively for non terrestrial use.
Nevertheless, except on remote areas. it will difficult, or nor possible,
to receive the faint, long traveled EME signals in presence of the strong
5G local “noise”.
Because my station is located on a high building in Sao Paulo ( 21
million people ), I’ll likely loose RX on these bands as soon as 5G testing
Don’t know when it will happen, but it will surely do. So, If you don’t
have SA or PY on your log on these bands, and would like to add it, it
would be nice to try it before 5G testing starts here.
