Sam –
Yes, I imagine that the PAG103+ would make a very nice amplifier with adequate filtering.
The interesting aspect of the ALN0140WT is that it is not broadband, but rather tuned to
144 MHz. I am in conversation with the manufacturer to try and get some at a reasonable
price.
As for Dayton, it’s the Midwest in Springtime. It always rains at some point or another
during the Hamvention, it seems.

I had lots of the little, low cost PGA103+ amplifier kits at Dayton. Not too much
interest, sadly.
Kent, WA5VJB, still has lots of devices and PCBs in stock and once he's recovered from
Dayton should be able to supply kits.
If you read my PDF you'll see that these devices do make a very nice little 144MHz (
and other band) preamps, but for 144MHz I would recommend a 130MHz HPF to reduce input
from band 2 FM. This is detailed in the PDF.
BTW, I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend at Dayton, although we had heavy rain for a few hours
on Saturday morning, the rest of the time the weather was quite benign.
It was so good to see so many old friends again and to 'chew the cud' over all
sorts of amateur radio matters.

Dear friends,
I wrote to their sales office in late October of 2012. Here is their reply…
The below are the price that you requested.
1) Model : ALN0140WT
2) Price : $12.0/pcs also need to add freight charge $90 per p.o
3) Lead time : 3 weeks
4) Shipping terms: FOB San Diego, CA
5) Payment terms : net 30 days
The unit price is all right but shipping is nuts.
I just wrote again to see whether they are more readily available in North America… will
report back.
