WSJTX has a setting for the FunCube pro + in the rig list for CAT control. Has anyone ever actually gotten this to work? It seems to pass the internal WSJTX CAT test, but doesn't seem to do anything to control or change the frequency, at least not in the way you would want it to. Sometimes it seems to read the correct frequency, but shows no doppler change overtime. Sometimes the frequency turns red and "oob" appear (out of bounds?). Sometimes it reads out the IF frequency. Then sometimes it goes back to the band default frequency rather then the entered sked frequency.
So the question is, is it me doing something wrong, or does the (presumably Hamlib?) "AMSAT-UK FUNcube Dongle pro +" entry in the rig list not work?
This is on a Windows 7 machine. I've seen posts claiming it works for some people (see https://wsjtx.groups.io/g/main/topic/funcube_dongle_pro_and_wsjt/75262846), though that's not specifically for Doppler tracking (which requires a split, presumably "fake it" in this case as the FunCube only has one "VFO")
If you have a FunCube pro + on your system (e.g. for MAP65 use), have you ever tried using it with WSJTX and selecting it as the RIG and had it tracking Doppler?
Thanks in advance for any info on this

Updated idea. My preference as stated is to sell the complete system as stated in #4 below with pickup only. I know this will severely limit my market. I’ve had requests for the Kuhne xvtr but rather than piece it out, I would consider selling just the RF deck (items #2 & #2 below) by removing the AL box w/ the small dish fm the steel post & stand. I would hv to bubble wrap the heck out of it & take it to either a FedEx or UPS shipper to professionally pack it in a heavy duty box with lots of peanuts particularly to protect the dish & feed. This could be shipped if a big enough box is available. Cost for this would be $900 + actual packing, shipping & insurance. If anyone could be interested in this approach let me know & agn photos are available.

As part of the liquidation of my 10 GHz terrestrial & EME equipment, the following complete 10 GHz system is offered for sale. This is a “quasi-portable” system that I purchased fm K7NII’s estate in 2015. My original plan was to use all of the components & purchase a 30-60 W SSPA for 3 cm EME using a separate 4 ft solid Andrew dish & feed. Due to the difficulty & cost of trying to pack & ship my preference is to sell the entire system & hv it picked up at my QTH which is just north of Prescott, AZ. If needed, I’ll disassemble it & sell off the smaller items piecewise. Prices are OBO + shipping where possible. Photos available on request. Included are:
1. IF consists of Yaesu FT-817ND (hv original box & manual but no mic) which is mounted on a board w/ a 10 MHz osc, JWM Engineering Model 5112 phase locked oscillator & straight key for CW. All were purchased new in 2006.
2. Homebrew (HB) AL box mounted on a heavy steel mast & baseplate. Also hv a tripod included but not sure if it’s heavy enough. A “gold” surface 67 cm (26.5”) dish (f/D of 0.435) is mounted to the cabinet including a HB CU pipe “shepherds crook” feed. An extra CU pipe feed is included w/ drawing showing dimensions. An EL motor & screw are mounted on the cabinet & a HB EL pwr supply is included.
3. Inside the cabinet is a SMA TR relay, sequencer (DEM?) & a Kuhne MKU 10 G2 xvtr (144 MHz IF) which was purchased new in 2006. There also is a small PA mounted (unknown mfg & documentation states it’s 1.6 W out). There is no LNA or pwr supply other than for EL. Whatever documentation & notes I hv will be included.
4. Everything in #1, #2 & #3 above are offered as a complete pkg for $1,500 w/ pickup only. (For anyone interested, I can show you an itemized breakdown & how I arrived at this price).
5. Hv a 4 ft solid Andrew dish which I will sell separately. Notes in file say it’s a Type D4C-21, T112R w/ f/D of 0.387 & 38 dB gain. Also hv steel mounting mast & actuator. $100 (pick up only).
6. Also hv a HB 10 GHz CU pipe chaparral feed w/ WR90 WG 28 VDC switch. Switch is a Dynatech / U-Z Inc model X1-2A2-2 w/ a matching plug. $100 (will sell separately & can ship).

CY0S SABLE ISLAND 2022 DXPEDITION NEWS (Update)[edited]. In addition to
the standard mode operations, good news for 2 Meter EME enthusiasts. Lee,
WW2DX, is planning 2M EME from Sable Island. Sable Island is extremely
rare on EME. For more details on this EME activity, check the BAND PLAN
posted on the CY0S website. Many know Lee for his successful operations
from various DX locations, including the 2016 and 2019 CY9C St Paul
DXpeditions.
Pat N2IEN, well known for SAT operations from various DX locations,
will provide the opportunity to work CY0S via SAT. The team is excited
about the DXpedition this Fall season. Parks Canada has us scheduled
for the October/November time frame. Operational requirements on Sable
has delayed Parks Canada from being able to determine the exact dates.
The team is anxiously awaiting those dates. Meanwhile, the team is working
hard on antenna planning and layout, equipment and logistics. Most of the
team will be flying into Halifax, Nova Scotia. Dan/W4DKS and Murray/WA4DAN
will be driving to Halifax with a large van full of gear. Pre-DXpedition
expenses are significant. We have been informed by both Sable Aviation
and Vision Air Services that fuel surcharges will be required. Currently
aviation fuel in Halifax is $9.05 for the US gallon equivalent. Additional
support will be very helpful and can be made via the CY0S DXpedition
website at:https://www.cy0s.com
Stand by for the exact DXpedition dates soon!

Hi to all
I have been watching the whole issue for many years and I would have few
words to it:
- The radio amateur service in the 23cm band were exclusive allocation many
years ago. Who and when in IARU (or ARRL) decided to continue to be a
secondary service? Can ITU submit such consent?
- Moving of narrowband types of operation to the 1299MHz segment must be the
next step after termination of all broadband radio amateur operations in the
band
- We should consider that the end of the operation of all unmanned radio
amateur transmition outside the segment of 1298 to 1300MHz, including de
facto stop of unmanned FT8 transmit. Or limit any unmanned device power to
1W RFor so.
- We shall consider that the potential interference of navigation receivers
is usually less critical in practice than the measurements presented by
Barry G4SJH. Narrow interference, albeit of the same power level as
broadband data, does not cause its interruption, but only a higher error
rate and because the radio amateurs in their communication will do always a
longer gap at the transmission (due to RX), the interference disappears and
the data are then loaded correctly. Thus, satellite navigation will be not
interrupted by sharing of radio amateur signals, but only it may create some
possible delay.
- The 100W power level, which are now counts for radio amateur broadcasting,
is as insufficient, all who run EME and similar types of DX operation knows
it well. The negotiations could therefore monitor the performance
restrictions over time - for example, the average (mean) level of radio
amateur transmission in any minute period must not exceed the 100W. This is
closely related to the potential interference of data transfer, listed in
the previous point. The power level EME transmitters using a parabolic
mirror as an antenna should not be subject to power restriction if the
antenna is used in elevation greater than 30 degrees above the horizon.
Thanks for your time

Since nearly all high power 23cm EME occurs within a 100 khz bandwidth, I
would think someone could find us a "23cm Global High Power EME Band". (-:
Could you share more info on the incident and leave out names/calls?
There's incredible experience and knowledge on this reflector for feedback.

Dear EME-friends,
Now that we have the presentation of the SLRC-chairman Barry/G4SJH put online on our website, we can all learn about the facts and figures.
The presentation can be found here:
https://www.iaru.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/06/23cm-Band-and-RNSS-June2022…
There is a lot that can be said and speculated about, but let’s keep our mind cool and focused on solutions.
And this is where we need our community (e.g. you! But also, the other users of 23cm…) and let me try to summarize some important guidelines and facts:
* We must do the utmost, to safe 23 cm for the amateur-radio-service. But please refrain from wild actions on social media or reflectors like here on Moonnet etc. It can only harm us if we don’t choose the right path of diplomacy!
* Some may think that we all have been sleeping whilst the situation run out of hand. And yes, Galileo has been there for many many years, but it never caused us any problem. Until recently we therefore lived in peaceful cooperation, till an incident happened with interference from a ham-radio service on a ground station of Galileo and after that Pandora’s box opened…
* This issue involves the EME-community, but not only that. So we (IARU that is) will have to involve all users in an attempt to find solutions.
* One of the solutions we are now focusing upon, is to present an alternative bandplan at WRC23, to show our willingness and positive approach. And yes, this might mean we have to move the “high power segment” to the upper edge of the allocation.
Such bandplan is now the top priority for the IARU and as Bob KA1GT rightfully said this is a global issue, so it concerns all Region’s. The worldwide board of IARU is therefore involved (and present here at Hamradio in Friedrichshafen Germany) and is calling for a worldwide approach.
* We agreed upon, to create a taskforce to develop the alternative bandplan. We will soon make clear of whom will be part of the taskforce.
Finally, I can tell you that Zdenek OK1DFC, Barry G4SJH and me (also all present here at Ham-Radio in Friedrichshafen Germany) arranged for it that Barry can present the situation during EME2022 in Prague. We can then make our first steps forwards solving this very challenging issue!
Best to all,

As part of the liquidation of my 10 GHz terrestrial & EME equipment, the following microwave test equipment is offered for sale. The signal generator & spectrum analyzer are boat anchors (well built but large & heavy) & would be very expensive to pack & ship. Therefore, I’m initially offering them for pickup at my QTH which is just north of Prescott, AZ. Prices are OBO & photos available on request.
1. HP Agilent 8672A Synthesized Signal Generator (2 to 18 GHz). I purchased this in October 2014 & will include the Certificate of Calibration that was done on 10/7/2014. I hv never used it so it should still be reasonably well calibrated. I also have the original printed operating & service manual for it as well as the power cord. Several of these are listed for sale on various site at prices between $2,500 & $3,675. Asking $1,950.
2. HP Agilent 10833A 3 ft HPIB/GPIB IEEE-488 Interface Bus Cables. Hv 2 available at $15 each. Will sell separately or together & can ship these.
3. HP Spectrum Analyzer, Preselector & Sweep Oscillator which I purchased from K7NII estate & never used. It consists of:
A. Spectrum Analyzer including HP 141T mainframe / display, HP 8555A RF Section covering 10 MHz to 18 GHz & HP 8552B IF Section. Asking $300. (I hvn’t used it other than to verify CRT trace is bright & well focused).
B. HP 8445B Preselector (up to 18 GHz). Asking $175. (I hvn’t used it other than to verify it powers up).
C. HP 8620C Sweep Oscillator with HP 86250B RF plug-in (8.0 to 12.4 GHz). Asking $275. (I hvn’t used it other than to verify it powers up).
All units hv power cords but no manuals. I prefer to sell all items in #3 together & will discount to a total of $700 as a pkg. If someone doesn’t want the Peselector or Sweep Osc. I will sell those separately & can ship them.
Hopefully, I’ll get my complete 10 GHz system that I’m selling posted tomorrow. It’s also too large to ship so I’m hoping anyone who travels to my QTH to look at the test equipment can also look at that system.
Tnx for looking & 73,
