Hello to everyone in the EME community. This year, the ARRL January VHF
Contest will be held the weekend of January 15th, 16th and 0000Z to
0400Z on Monday the 17th. We want to work as many EME stations on 2M,
432, and 1296 as we can to increase our grid count. Please help us with
this event by working us on JT65b, Q65, or CW. Thank you very much.
In the past, we have operated in the Limited Multi-operator category
using the 6M, 2M, 222, and 432 bands. HOWEVER, this year, we are going
to operate on 6M, 2M, 432, and 1296. The last courtesy of Peter-KA6 and
his 2.4M folding dish and 350W. Peter did very well in the EME contest
with his 1296 station, so please work us on 1296 if you can.
Our first moon pass begins at 0220Z on Saturday, the 15th. It ends at
1200Z on Sunday. The second moon pass begins at 2300Z Sunday and ends
at 0400Z on Monday at the end of the contest time.
On Sunday, the 16th, our moon rises at 2300Z. We will be calling CQ and
looking hard for EME contacts until the end of the contest--0400Z on
Monday. We will have all three EME stations running and we would really
love to work you on all three if possible.
The 2M EME station is 8 x 18 all H-pol with a full 1500W of output power
and a tower mounted cavity type preamp. We can and do work smaller
stations all the time, so give us a try. As usual, we will be operating
144.142MHz Second Sequence. The 2M station will be watching the N0UK
EME-1 reflector page.
The reflector is a wonderful resource, so feel free to use it
liberally. The new ARRL rules allow us to make schedules on the EME-1
page, so don't be shy about chatting with us there. NOTE: NO contact
information can be exchanged on the reflector.
We also have a good 432 EME station. Our 432 EME antenna is 16 x 28el
M2 all H-pol. This antenna works very well. We have 650W output, so if
you have anything on 432, look for us on 432.080MHz. IF Faraday is not
bad, we have a good chance to work you. We will take the Second
Sequence and we will call CQ whenever we can. If you can, please try to
work us on 432. IF we hear a CW caller on 2M OR 432, we will switch to
CW and make every effort to work you. The 432 station will be watching
the 432 page on the HB9Q reflector.
We will be operating on 1296 this time. We will use the HB9Q 1296 chat
page, so look for us there.
Good luck to all in the contest and we hope to see you there. Thank you.

It is looking like I'll be out with the camper come February/March, any
interest in working Utah via 23cm EME as I start back north in March?
Open to other bands too.

To VE4MA's comments about antenna design for weather factors, what about Teflon (sorry, PTFE) coated elements? Please note
tongue slightly in cheek.

I built the "A simple pulse generator for Linrad calibration". I seems to work fine.
I makes pulses in the 144 mHz range, is there a modification to make it work at 432 MHz?
I thought I asked before trying to modify the values of the components.
Thank you.

I was excited to see that we have crossed the 200 mark. 210 logs received as of 2022-01-11, and a few more are in the mail.
Can you please submit your logs if you haven't yet sent them in. I am happy to assist anyone who needs help making a Cabrillo log format or submitting it to the Log submission portal. Let's see if we can break the 250 log level. Thanks all, 73, Rick K1DS
