PS Sorry, forgot to ask:
IF - I'm thinking of using my TS2000 at 432MHz. I use it at 144MHz for my
1296MHz IF, and it works very well with WSJT-X. I note Kuhne will accept a
very wide range of Ifs, including 28MHz - I also have an IC7300 which could
be another option. Even at that low IF, Kuhne imply image is not a problem
Tnx
David
I'm starting the 10GHz EME journey, and would be grateful for any pearls of
wisdom from those who've made the journey.
I have already had great advice from John, G4BAO, and Dave G0LBK.
If you think it more appropriate please reply off list.
I will be using a 1.8m offset dish (Rave/Andrews). Slew drives, controlled
by K3NG controller.
Mast will be in place soon. I'm then going to have a brief play with
standard LNB and SDR at 680MHz as discussed by Bob, KA1GT.
Specific issues I'd like comments on:
Transverter - I don't think that there's any sensible option other than
Kuhne. The latest G5 would be nice, but a second-hand G4 would seem to suit
my needs. Essential is of course the 10MHz locking
Preamp - Kuhne, or others
PA - ditto. Considering costs I suspect I'll be limited initially to ~4
watts
Feed horn - my construction facilities are limited, and skills even more so,
so I'm thinking of commercial. Anybody any experience with the I0JXX? I use
a septum feed on 1296 and like the idea of separate Tx and Rx ports to aid
isolation. RFHamdesign makes one, but it seems to me general consensus is
for linear polarisation.
Any input greatly appreciated.

Hello EME friends,
Last weekend during the 9cm Dubus/REF CW/SSB contest i made 21 QSOs (last year 17)
1 initial DL4DTU #69 very nice signals 559 from Norbert during his first show on 9cm.
Strongest signals from OK1CA, OH2DG, W5LUA and K2UYH very stong on Sunday !!
Nice to QSO VK3NX using X-band :-))
Conditions Saturday were not as good as on Sunday.
I could measure 0.3dB moonnoise on Saturday and 0.35dB on Sunday.
Less than usual >0.4dB.
Outside the contest a 2nd initial VE6BGT #70, outstandig CW signal peaking 579 !!
Made also 3 Digi-mode QSOs
Will be looking forward to the 10GHz part in April.

I no longer am using this with my Elecraft K3 so I figured I'd make it
available to someone who can use it.
HA1YA model ME2T 2 meter Transverter - I used this with a K3 for EME and is
a terrific 30 watt transverter with a great deal of flexibility in terms of
setting it up with the transceiver and power input level of your choice.
Comes with a cooling fan which I never installed as it isn't really
necessary. I have documentation but no original box. $450 shipped to
anywhere in continental US. If interested in any of the above, please
contact Rick, W2JAZ at: rjlawn at gmail dot com.

Many of the people watching the live demonstration last night of Q65-60A contacts on
Zoom were also quite interested in 2m and UHF EME. Hopefully they will seek out the
experts on those bands with their questions. I posted a setup checklist for Q65, and
my Q65 EME DXpedition procedure on my website:
http://www.bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/Q65SETUP.pdfhttp://www.bigskyspaces.com/w7gj/DXpedition%20Procedure%20with%20Q65.pdf
This revolutionary development in weak signal work is VERY EXCITING! I wish Joe,
W5HNK, had been able to live to see the growth of 6m EME since his historic first
contact 49 years ago.

Many MANY thanks to those of you who participated last night in the Q65-60A 6m EME
demonstration last night! It was a very realistic simulation of what things will look
like during a Q65 EME DXpedition. The 11 contacts made during the Zoom meeting were
G8BCG, OH2BC, K9RX, I4YRW, N3XX, N0TB, K5NA, HB9Q, HA2NP, K2ZD and F1IXQ. VERY
SPECIAL THANKS to those 6 EU stations for staying up so late!!!
As I am sure you realize, it was practically impossible for me to post any comments
to the chat page, since I was busy trying to aim the antenna, log the contacts, and
answer people's questions! The Zoom meeting was recorded and I expect they will try
to post it on YouTube at some point. If/when it is posted somewhere, I will send out
an announcement and post a link to it on my website.

Ealriler today I reported a problem with using the callsign KA6LMS/1 with
WSJT-X on JT65B. The Tx2 message was generated correctly but transmitted
incorrectly.
K1JT has reached out to me and gave me a workaround which seems to work.
Thanks, Joe!
It apparently does not affect Q65 operation in WSJT-X, and is not a problem
in WSJT9 (which I still have).
I should be able to use the correct callsign now (KA6LMS/1). If you worked
me last night, please edit the callsign from KA6LMS to KA6LMS/1 because
that is how it will be uploaded to LOTW by the event organizers.
After most people have worked that call, I will switch to the other special
call I can use for this event (W6M).
The HF activity for this special event has been very high. There are lots
of nice awrds, special QSLs, etc. for this operation. Check the KA6LMS QRZ
page for details.

Please note these are PROPOSED DATES FOR 2022. The 2021 dates are already set.
I surveyed EME stations in both the US and Europe/UK and these represent the highest declinations
with the least conflict with other terrestrial VHF events. If you have any feedback before they are finalized, please let me know.
Thanks, Rick K1DS

Anybody using the FTdx10 with transverters for EME ???
Any results on drift and performance ??

I have been given permission to use the callsign KA6LMS/1 on EME for the
"Last Man Standing" special event this week.
According to the WSJT-X software, this is a valid Type 1 compound callsign.
The TX1 (CQ) message works as expected, dropping the grid square (" CQ
KA6LMS/1"), but when I answer a station (K1JT in this example), the
software sends "K1JT KA6L OOO".
If I use just KA6LMS (without the /1) everything is fine, but I am supposed
to use the /1 designator becasue there are "KA6LMS" stations all over the
country for this event.
Same behavior on WSJT-X 2.2.2 and 2.4.0-rc1
How can I fix this?
73,
Doug K1DG
p.s Info on the special event at the KA6LMS page on QRZ.COM
p.p.s. I also have use of the callsign W6M and will use it after everybody
has has a chance to work KA6LMS/1, problaby during the weekend.
